This tutorial will teach you how to use Ventrilo, how to make a username, connect to a server, and use a hotkey to speak.
Download Ventrilo
Step 1: Download Ventrilo -

Step 3: Step 3: You need to create a user name. To do this, click the arrow highlighted by the blue square.
A new window will pop up, click on the tab the "New" tab.
Another window will pop up, add your name here, and click "Ok"
Step 4: Now you need to add a our server. Click the arrow that's been highlighted.
Once there, you need to give our server a name. Click on "New", and enter the name "BOOM! Gaming". After you click "Ok", you will want to enter the IP address and port number. Use the same numbers as pictured. Once all the info has been entered, click "Ok". Do not worry about the password, this will be entered later.
Step 5: Time to adjust some options, making it easier to communicate. To do this, click the "Setup"; tab on the main menu.
Once the setup menu is open, you will want to set to check the "Push to talk"; box, and assign a key to this function. You may choose anything you want. Make sure this key does not correspond to a function in a commonly played game. Once set, you can test your voice by clicking on the "Test"; tab. If everything works, click "Ok"; at the bottom of the window.
Step 6: Its now time to connect. Once you have connected, please wait for an administrator to register your account. Once registered, they will give you a password this password will be entered under the server tab (refer to step 4).
You are now ready to use Ventrilo.
