Are you tired of low signal strength and dropped connections with your wireless network? Do you lag when using a wireless connection for your PC or game console to the Internet? Does you video buffer have to constantly replenish itself in the middle of watching shows and movies on you PC while using a wireless connection? If the answer to any of these is yes, then I have a real treat for you!

I've been having a ton of problems with my wireless network in my house since I moved. There's simply too much interference here for me to get a reliable connection for my, Media Center, Blu-ray Netflix player, Cable TV box, and most of all, my wife's PC. Much of this is caused by interference from other wireless networks in my area, cordless phones, microwave EMI, wireless mice and keyboards, cellphones and PDAs, and just about a million other possibilities.

After weeks and weeks of trying everything under the sun to fix my wireless network so I could maintain a strong wireless signal (including new hubs, remote antennas, different wireless cards, and countless network settings changes), I have finally found the answer, and you won't believe how awesome it works.

I took a chance and ordered Belkin's Powerline AV 200 Starter kit and boy am I glad I did! It cost me about $100 on eBay and I can honestly say it's one of the best purchases I made in a very long time.

The way this works is this. These devices multiplex your network signals in with the electrical cycles running through your house's electrical system. The kit gives you 2 devices that plug into the electrical outlets in your home. One device has a single network (RJ-45) jack that you plug into your router or Internet modem using a standard network cable. This is the network "Feed" into your house electrical system that all the other devices will get their signal from. You plug the second multi-port device in where you decide to remotely locate another PC, game console, or other device that needs Internet access. The second device actually has 3 network ports so you can connect up to 3 devices at the second location.

After the devices are plugged in, you're done. I instantly had a 200 MB/s Network connection to all 3 of my devices. 200 MB/s is 4 times faster than Wireless-G (up to 54 MB/s at full strength) and my connection and is likely better than what you will get on an average Wireless-N connection (up to 300 MB/s at full strength, but 300 MB/s is truly a rare achievement in most cases). My connections are now rock solid. I no longer need to consider hardwiring my other devices. If you plan on moving the equipment, all you need to do is unplug it an move it to another electrical outlet!

If you would like to expand your Powerline AV network, all you need to do is by more network adapters and plug them in where you need them. that's it.

Here is a link explaining these devices if you're interested:

Regards and enjoy,

I think you're looking at the wrong product Baker. They have a low-speed and a high-speed one system. Read the link in my first post or use the below one and you will see where it says 200 Mpb/s.

Update on my Powerline AV+. I had it working for a while at my last place but a week before I moved it just quit working. Would not find Network name or DNS, even tried to do static addressing since there was a known issue for windows 7. I move to my new place and cant get it to work here either. Same thing as other place cant get resolution. So now it sits in a box. I worked good for a few weeks but then nothing.

Hey Gooru,

Three questions:

1. Are both Powerline units plugged into the same electrical system? I mean the source and destination are both in the same structure right?

2. Are you plugging either unit into a power strip? If so, remove them and plug them straight into the wall. The can't be plugged into a plug strip at all.

3. What do the status indicators say on the unit's? what color are the lights.

Something's not right here. They should work. I've installed them in 4 laces and all of them work flawlessly.
