Yay! after constant testing, trial & error, and asking people for their opinions and ideas, I've completed cs_crackhouse_boom! Yay! I've made it available for download using BOOM!'s FTP account Maverick made for me in order to share my media with you all (Thanks Maverick)!

First I suggest you take a tour of everything that's new in t he map, and secret spots you'll love! In order to see the tour of the map, first download the file. Then, you need to put the .dem file you downloaded in your C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\*****\counter-strike source\cstrike directory. (***** = you're steam login name). Then start Counter-Strike: Source. Open up your console and type "playdemo crackhouse_boom" without quotations. Then, sit back and enjoy the show.

Clarification:
I think Crackhouse_boom is a beautiful map with many really neat features. I also think it would make it possible for the crackhouse to be strictly objective based(as it is nearly impossible to get the hostages out of the house with a full server load in the original).  I really don't think it's as fun of a deathmatch map as the original though.

When I first happened into the BOOM! crackhouse several months ago I instantly felt a warm killing sensation from a finely tuned crackhouse. Moments later I was given an option to buy a bomb, when I finally figured out how this was done, I fell deeply in love; almost as if I was an infant in a mother's arms.

Now things are coming to grips, posts about big changes and such: I feel as though I am going to lose my home, and worse yet the home itself is becoming something different, like some kind of biomechanical alien ship going through a metamorphosis.

  But enough sap.

I work two jobs to support my family and get my wife through college and I scrape what time I get together in order to play in the balmy field of long grass known as cs:s, wich mind all of you is getting to be 6 years old(very long-lived for any strictly multiplayer game).  When I play I know what I want to play

That is what has kept me coming back.  I know I am only one player who doesn't have the time to chat about playing.  Sorry; but I feel there are others like me out there that make up the "meat" of the crackhouse server and none of us have time to post our miniscule opinions about a really old game.

And Bella, if hard time logged on to the servers is not involving oneself in the "gaming community" then it's not a "gaming" community, and if thats what BOOM! is, then I am sorry I signed up, and played.

Big Z, we appreciate the post and information. I would love for you to post a bio and possibly apply for admin in the future.

We have been testing the cs_crackhouseboom map. We will continue to support cs_crackhouse on the server. Although if voted on by the BOOM! community crackhouseboom could be added on a rotation to the server.

We are also looking at leaving the 24/7 crackhouse as it is and adding a crackhouse rotation server. Which would support crackhouseboom and all of the mod crackhouse maps we have.

Again thank you for posting your concerns. Although the majority of the community has been very happy with the map. We will always have a few who disagree. There is no way for us to please everybody.

An excellent Post by BigZ and it's greatly appreciated. I said all along that our regulars in Crackhouse love the server just as it is and any changes we've made to it have come with deep resistance from the players. I have seen the server remain busy with both maps but the reviews have always be mixed. One thing is for sure, people absolutely love the orginal crackhouse and I don't want to run there fun by adding new maps, even if the map is awesome like cs_crackhouse_boom. For now, I'm going to keep the server 24/7 Deathmatch crackhouse original like it always has been. I'm then gonna build another crackhouse rotation server with about 15 crackhouse maps to see which one people like. Running the side by side will allow us to accurately measure the acceptance by the players.

Regards,

it there some way we can then make a plug-in that you just type votemap or ratemap or something and it's just a simple pop-up saying 'do you like this map?' with yes, no, hide this message and in the server anouncements you can tell people to type it to vote for the map (or have it pop up at each death until they vote or choose hide this message).  then just keep track of votes for each map

Yes, there is a ratemap plugin in. I was actually using it on the Gungame server for a while but even though it was spammed in the messages, no one used it. I'll look into this again. Thanks for the suggestion.

Just a little feedback.

The new map is neat and all but it seems to favor sniper weapons. A couple of the modifications are good but there are too many. Basically, you over did it. You cant get anywhere without being picked off from 20 directions with AWP. The best part of the original is you know where the few(er) sniper nests are. The new one has too many sniper spots. However, you did do well adding ways to sneak up on them for knife kills. I think if you toned it down some you would have a winner.

A couple things I hate about the original...

T should be able to get on the roof without getting AWP'd as soon as they come off the ladder.

CT spawn needs a little more cover. The garage idea is good so you aren't getting blasted as soon as you spawn.

Make a map addressing those 2 issues and I bet it will be much more accepted.

I could, but I'd like more feedback before I waste my time on a map only one person seems to have ideas for. That The map was 90% ideas form other people, and 80% of majority votes like the new map better. I'm glad this one person took the to point out the places they don't agree with, but I'm going to need more than 1 person to give me feedback before I start on editing the map again. Otherwise, it would just be a waste, and I'd only be doing it for 1 or 2 people to have more fun.

With all do respect, I'm very happy someone finally has some decent feedback on my map and is willing to point out it's flaws, and give me ideas. Unlike SOME people who just "Don't have any ideas" (Maverick)!!!  Tongue [jp]
Please EVERYONE, give me some more ideas!
Any idea is valid for testing! I don't have a problem trying most of them out, ya know?

I've had a few (out there) ideas even, like expanding the map to take that street-block, and copy it next to itself to make the map bigger. Like 2 crackhouses, with some short building in between for the awpers to battle it out on the roof, and a few tunnel passage ways and street paths, along with some added allyways for everyone else. I personally think this is a super idea! Each team spawns in a crackhouse, and deathmatch battles! woot woot!

But that's just one person's idea.
