i have my cs sounds changed, but for some reason on our crackhouse server, they change back. is it me or is it server sided?

What kind of sounds are you referring to? The Quake sounds? If so, then yes, the Quake sound events are always controlled by the server after a local copy of each sound is downloaded onto you PC when you first connect to a server. The sounds are event-driven and can only be turned off, not changed. To turn them off, you would use the say command "settings" and change them there.

ah ok that was half of it, but i also have where my hostages beat box when i grab them, that seems to go default too.
